Ramsgate Ladies V Malgo Ladies

4 Oct

This was always going to be a tough game if the earlier encounter in September was anything to go by. As it turned out 10 men Malgo had to put in an outstanding performance to remain unbeaten and top of the the Kent Division of SECWFL.

Both sets of 11 players lined up at the Southwood Stadium and it was Ramsgate who showed their familiarity with the large pitch, mounting some early attacks. Malgo soon learned how to take advantage of the pitch working an opening on 10 minutes for a shot by Seymour that flew just over the Ramsgate goal.

Final score Ramsgate Ladies 3 – 3 Malgo Ladies

Maidstone Utd V Malgo Ladies 05.09.10

5 Sep

This was Malgo’s first game of the season, and time to find out if the pre-season’s efforts would pay off. Things however could not have got off to a worse start, when during warm-up, 7 mins before kick-off Malgo’s keeper Cooper injures her hand. Things went from bad to worse when on 3 mins Maidstone put in a looping cross into Malgo’s box. Golding had to deal with it and tried to head it wide past her own goal but the ball looped over Malgo stand-in keeper Freeman and into the net.

What’s your favourite team formation

Football Formations
As managers are unable to get on the field themselves, the formation is a vital way for them to enforce their vision on the players. The type of formation selected by the manager reflects the sort of football you can expect them to play.

Have your say, tell us what team formation you like to play and why?

Welcome to Malgo FC

2 Oct

Welcome the blog of Malgo Football Club home of the Knights.

As a club we have been established since 1922 – Maidstone Amalgamated Local Government Offices – but that’s just part of the story. Malgo was a legendary king of the Britons, who’s heraldry found him a lasting place in history. It’s from this that we take our knickname ‘The Knights”.
